Your Healthcare

  • Medical Benefit Plans: Acuity Brands offers healthcare plans through United Healthcare. Plans do not have any co-payments and a deductible and coinsurance apply to all covered services. All preventative care is covered at 100%.
  • Prescription Coverage: Coverage is available if you enroll in a United Healthcare plan offered by Acuity Brands through Express Scripts.
  • Dental: Acuity Brands offers dental plans through MetLife which covers routine care, basic and major services as well as orthodontia for adults and children (depending on plan).
  • Vision: Vision coverage is offered by Eyemed which covers eye exams yearly, frames every two years and lenses or contact lenses every year.


Your Financial Security

  • Basic Life and AD&D: Company paid benefit; Acuity Brands provides 2x your annual salary in Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Supplemental Life and AD&D are available to you, your spouse/domestic partner, or children. You can also elect additional AD&D coverage for yourself and your eligible dependents through the Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment program.
  • Short Term Disability: Company paid benefit; Acuity Brands provides you with 100% Short Term Disability (STD) coverage for 13 weeks.
  • Long Term Disability: Company provides 40% of your annual salary at no cost to you. You have the option to elect an additional 20% coverage if desired.
  • 401(k): Acuity Brands will match 60% of your first 6% into the plan. Acuity Brands partners with Merrill Lynch for this benefit.
    • Note: All new hires are automatically enrolled in the Acuity Brands 401(k) Plan at a 3% contribution rate.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: $5,250 per eligible year after 180 days of service and full-time employment.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program: Voluntary plan that allows you to purchase Acuity Brands stock at a 5% discount of the closing price on the last market day of the month.
  • Legal Plan: Our prepaid legal plan provides telephone and consultations for an unlimited amount of matters with a network attorney of your choice.

Your Work/Life Balance

  • Healthcare Savings Account (HSA): If you elect to enroll in one of Acuity Brands health plans, you can elect to contribute pre-tax dollars into a savings account. Your savings roll over year after year. No use it or lose it!
  • Acuity Wellness Program: Participate in Company sponsored health and wellness programs to earn money towards your healthcare expenses. Additionally, save money through fitness facility discounts.
  • Flexible Spending Account- Healthcare and Dependent Care: You can elect to contribute pre-tax dollars to either or both of these accounts.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Company paid benefit, provided by United Healthcare that provides confidential counseling and referral services.
  • Auto and Home Insurance: This program provided by MetLife, gives you access to special group rates and policy discounts. Payroll deductions are available!
  • Supplemental Income Protection Plans:
    • Group Accident: Accidents happen! This plan, through Allstate, provides cash benefits for out-of-pocket expenses associated with an accidental injury and can help protect hard earned savings should an accidental injury occur.
    • Group Critical Illness: Plan, through Allstate, provides lump sum cash benefits to help cover out-of-pocket expenses associated with a critical illness.

Time Away From Work

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 to 160 hours (accrual rate is based on years of service).
  • Holidays:
    • 4/10 schedule- 9 holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Holidays (3 days which take into account working day before/after), New Year’s Holidays (2 days which take into account working day before/after), Memorial Day and Independence Day.
    • 5/8 schedule- 11 holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, day before Christmas, Christmas Day, day after Christmas, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day and Independence Day.
