The following steps are applicable to all lighting types.
Step 1: Verify correct incoming power supplied to ballast or driver; verify correct voltage
Step 2: Verify incoming power connections at wire connectors are solid and cannot be pulled loose
Step 3: Use multi-meter to verify any output from ballast/driver (except for HID pulse start ballast)
For Fluorescent Products:
Step 1: Verify lamp wattage matches ballast list of lamps to be used
Step 2: Verify wiring is correct per diagram on the ballast or wiring of fixtures that are working
Step 3: Take working lamp from other fixture place in non-working fixture
Step 4: Verify lamps are locked in place in the sockets (picture of locked lamp)
For HID Products:
Step 1: Verify lamp wattage matches ballast list of lamps to be used (ANSI codes must match between lamp and ballast)
Step 2: Take working lamp from other fixture place in non-working fixture
Step 3: Type ‘O’ lamp must be used in pink (protected) socket (pictures of protected lamp)
Step 4: Screw lamp in hand tight, loosen one half turn, then tighten hand tight again.
For Battery Pack Fixtures:
Step 1: Verify the battery is plugged to the ballast / driver
Step 2: Make sure the battery has an un-switched power circuit
Step 3: Note that battery packs need to charge 24 hours before testing and need up to 168 hours to reach full charge.
For LED Products:
Step 1: Verify wiring is correct per diagram on the driver or wiring of fixtures that are working
For Induction Products:
Step 1: Consult component manufacturer directly
